About Evan

Evan is a self-taught filmmaker and photographer who has had a camera in his hand for as long as he can remember. From a young age, Evan has also had a passion for the outdoors, which led him to obtain a Diploma in Recreation, Fish, and Wildlife (RFW) Technology from Selkirk College, followed by a Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the same institution.

Evan has previously worked in GIS roles for several non-profit organizations, including Wildsight in Kimberley, BC, and the British Columbia Wildlife Federation (remotely). While he no longer works professionally in GIS, the skills he gained in those positions, combined with his passion for media and the outdoors, have equipped him with a unique ability to communicate scientific information, processes, and findings to diverse audiences through various mediums. His time in the RFW program provided Evan with the knowledge of safely conducting fieldwork in remote backcountry settings.

Since 2022, Evan has been working as a full-time freelance photographer and filmmaker across Northern BC. He has collaborated with clients such as Chu Cho Environmental, Conservation North, and the Nechako White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative (NWSRI) to tell stories about environmental issues and the people involved.
